Pre-owned Equipment Classifieds
Should you buy new? Should you buy used? Should
you rent? These are all valid questions, and the answers will vary
from individual to individual depending on their personal needs.
If you decide that purchasing is your best option, we offer a pre-owned
classified section, which can save you some money. It could even
make you some money, should you choose to list for sale on consignment,
your no longer wanted equipment! And unlike some other consignment
sale companies, we will not charge you the going rate of 35-45%
consignment fees. We think that's too high. Advertising in our classifieds
section can save you money.
Here's how it works:
Your ad will receive exposure 24 hours a day, seven days a week
on our web site. We offer this service for a low cost advertising
fee of $20.00 per month. If you’ve purchased equipment from
Davies, we’ll even give you the first’s month fee for
free.
Plus, If the item you want to sell requires repair,
we offer a repair service at a low fee.
And if you wish, we can provide technical support
at the time you negotiate the sale, at a cost of $50, to ensure
all equipment is working and your buyer’s questions are answered
knowledgeably.
We actively promote our pre-owned classified section
through direct mail to facilities and community markets where customers
for these products are most likely to frequent.
We are now pleased to offer you three options
for selling your equipment:
Classified Management Option A
You store the equipment, field all calls,
set up appointments, negotiate the sale and arrange for pick-up
and delivery. You keep the money!
Classified Management Option B
Short on time but have room to spare? You store
the equipment and we’ll field all calls, set up the appointments
and arrange for pick-up and delivery of the items for you at a 15%
commission.
Classified Management Option C
No time to take calls or room to store your
equipment? We’ll store the equipment for you, field all calls,
negotiate the sale, and arrange for pick-up and delivery at a commission
of 25%.
Here’s an example:
Mr. Jones has a rehabilitation tilt & reline
wheelchair, with seating, for sale. He (or his insurance company)
paid $4,800 for it 8 months ago. If he chooses to sell the wheelchair
through a consignor, here’s what might happen:
He leaves the equipment with the consignor, who
would likely not accept the seating products and would likely set
the price at approximately $2,500 or best offer. From here, it’s
anybody’s guess as to how it sells. It all depends on how
prominently the consignor presents the equipment and how vigorously
they try to sell it. Let’s assume the chair sells in two months
for $2,500. The consignor will take a minimum of 35%, plus any repair
fees and pick-up or delivery charges. So Mr. Jones is left with,
at most, $1,625. And he still has to sell the seating!
But, if Mr. Jones chooses our Classified Option
A, he would store the chair and seating. He would accept the buyer’s
calls and set up his own appointments. He would negotiate his own
price, which could be as much as $3,500 for the chair and seating
package. The advertisement fee for one month is $20, plus Mr. Jones
elected to have one of our consultants be present at the sale for
a fee of $50. Let’s assume the chair sells for a reduced price
of $3,000. The total pay out to Mr. Jones would be $2,930. That’s
a difference of over $1,000 to Mr. Jones!
Choosing any one of our options would mean a bigger
payout to Mr. Jones than he’ll ever see from a consignor.
So now you know... advertising in the Davies’
classifieds sections will save you time and money.
